Spy shots: Jaguar XE Caught Testing in European Alps

The Jaguar C-X16 Concept might be catching the eyes of numerous at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but over inside the European Alps, Jaguar engineers are working the kinks out of the production version of this concept: the Jaguar XE.

The XE is going to be debuting sometime subsequent year and will probably be provided in both coupe and roadster versions, with the roadster debuting ahead of the coupe. Soon after each of those models come out, a GT3 version for the coupe will also show its face. Maybe we’ll get lucky and get R and R-S versions at the same time.

Either way, the new Jaguar XE will probably be built on the identical platform as the present XK sports vehicle and is going to be powered by a three.0 liter V6 made entirely of aluminum and delivering some 380 HP. Jaguar has promised that the XE will probably be a true two-seater sportscar with plans to hunt down models like the Porsche 911.

Lofty objectives aside, the new Jaguar XE will fit in nicely using the Porsche clan by providing a price tag that falls somewhere in between the Boxster, the Cayman, along with the 911.
