Today is National Pancake Day at IHOP

Display up at an worldwide dwelling of Pancakes today and get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. The showing up is the very simple part; the dispute is working out how long you’reeager to delay for a stack of three pancakes. nationwide Pancake Day guests will be inquired to consider departing a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network. With 45 IHOP positions within 20 miles of Washington, let’s not all clog the Columbia Heights position.
(Don’t feel like waiting at all? These pancakes are better than IHOP’s.)

2 cups buttermilk
2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon lemon extract
2 cups flour
4 tablespoons maple syrup
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Combine dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in a second bowl. Mix until well blended
using a wire whisk. Combine the bowls together and continue whisking until batter is nearly smooth
( lumps are okay, dry spots are not)
Portion out pancakes as 1/3 of a cup and cook on a hot flat griddle until sides are set and bubbles have formed all over top of pancake. Flip and cook around 30-45 seconds on other side, Store on a plate in a warm 200 degree oven until all pancakes are done.
Top how you wish. I like whipped cream cheese and bacon on mine.
