Microsoft Buy Skype U.S. $ 8.5 Billion

Microsoft announced plans to buy internet telephone company Skype Technologies
. With the price of U.S. $ 8.5 billion transaction will be the largest acquisition ever in the technology business world.
"Skype is a phenomenal service that is loved by millions of people around the world. Together we will create a future of real-time communication so that people can easily stay connected with family, friends, clients and colleagues anywhere in the world," said chief executive disclosed Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, as reported by the New York Times, Tuesday (10 / 5).
This agreement will strengthen Microsoft's services in both voice and video communications technologies such as Skype which is owned, Xbox 360, Kinect and Outlook. Not only that, the acquisition also will help Microsoft catch up IOS Apple and Google's Android operating systems in terms of distance communication.
"Microsoft and Skype share a vision of bringing innovative products and software to our customers. Together, we will be able to speed up Skype plans to expand our global community and introduce new ways for everyone to communicate and collaborate," said Tony Bates, who currently serves as head of Skype and will become president in Microsoft's new division to deal with Skype.
Skype also has undergone a long journey. Skype was founded Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis in 2003. Two men who created the technology to share files, Kazaa, which ultimately is better known and associated with music piracy.
Then in its development, Skype offers free phone service and cheap. This service eventually attracted many international callers to make long distance phone calls as interstate telephone.
While eBay has bought Skype in 2005. But eventually sell it back in 2009. Microsoft, according to the WSJ, is the owner of the 4th trip within 8 years of Skype. In 2010, Skype lost 7 million U.S. Dollars. (NYTimes / AIS)
